The main air gateway to cities in the Benelux region, Brussels Airport (formerly known as Zaventem Airport) sees around 16 million passengers per year through its gates, mainly from other European destinations although the airport does service flights from worldwide destinations. The airport has a direct rail service to Brussels city centre which makes it one of the simplest airports in Europe to navigate your way to and from. Accommodation around the airport is aimed at business travellers and therefore generally of a good standard. Most hotels offer a shuttle service although at weekends it is very limited.
